Explore Crested Butte, Colorado

Crested Butte is located in Gunnison County in southwestern Colorado, 28 miles north of the City of Gunnison and 231 miles southwest of Denver. The population was 1,529 at the 2000 census. The Town is surrounded by mountain scenery and is a recreational paradise. People enjoy skiing, hiking, and mountain biking here. The ski area resort is in Mount Crested Butte, three miles north of town. The Town is designated a National Historic District. Visit the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. Crested Butte hosts a number of summer festivals, including an arts festival, a mountain bike festival, a wildflower festival, and a rubber duck race.

Crested Butte is served by the Gunnison County Airport in nearby Gunnison, Colorado.
